Prof Ratemo Michieka is the current chancellor of Tharaka University, the chairperson of the African Union’s African Scientific, Research, and Innovation Council (ASRIC) and the National Research Fund (NRF – Kenya). He is also the Chair of the ATLT Expo advisory committee.
He is a distinguished Kenyan scholar in agriculture and environmental science. He holds a PhD in Weed Science from Rutgers University and has significantly contributed to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. Prof. Michieka served as the founding Vice-Chancellor of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, as Director General of the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), and has served as a professor at the University of Nairobi.
