Lucy Namu is a seasoned food safety expert with over 25 years of experience in trade facilitation, particularly in the implementation of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), Standards, and Conformity Assessment. She currently serves as Chief Manager Laboratories at the Kenya National Accreditation Service (KENAS), where she oversees laboratory accreditation schemes. Lucy has worked extensively with international bodies, including serving as a Developing Country Expert (Africa) at the World Trade Organization’s Standards and Trade Development Facility. She has also played a key role in global food safety standards through leadership in the Codex Committees on Pesticide Residues.
