Richard Musafiri is the Director of the Uganda National Accreditation Service (UGANAS) since 2020. With over 13 years of private-sector experience in sugar processing, where he rose to the position of Production Manager, he joined the Ugandan government in 2009, working in the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives. He holds a BSc. in Industrial Chemistry from Makerere University, an MSc. in Project Planning and Management, and a Diploma in Project Management. He is experienced in Total Quality Management and international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001. Musafiri is passionate about promoting trade, industrial development, and public health through accreditation and conformity assessment.
