The relationship between Chemistry and commercial activities requires a diversified approach. Scientific expertise should be strictly linked with business matters. This duty is a work for a whole team of different professionals. From a general viewpoint, the “translation” of a scientific language and related concepts and knowledge into an idiom for businessmen is not simple. However, chemical innovation is a key factor for manufacturing activities. Substantially, “Business needs Science”. In particular, chemistry-related know-how can be transformed in a “Business/Chemistry”(B/C) culture: adequate training is naturally needed, but specialized chemists working in non-chemical environments can help business enterprises in different areas. This webinar aims at describing a consumer-oriented Vision for African food systems, discussing main key drivers, related problems, challenges, and possible solutions. Subsequently, the analysis of commercial and quality-related requirements on the International level will be discussed with the aim of demonstrating that Chemistry Can Ensure Authenticity and Build Trust in African Food Systems.
