Dr. Juma Mukhwana, was appointed the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Industry in the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI), in December 2022. He previously served as Director General of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA). With over 20 years in leadership roles, he has advanced policies to enhance local manufacturing, including the County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) and the Buy Kenya, Build Kenya Initiative. Dr. Mukhwana holds a PhD in Soil Science from the University of Wyoming and is committed to growing Kenya’s manufacturing sector, targeting 15% of GDP by 2025.
